We operate a full service fly shop in Boone, North Carolina and offer high quality fly fishing on the Watauga, Linville, Toe, Elk, New River, and many other pristine mountain streams that are located near our shop. The shop is open all year round and we have a professional knowledgeable staff. We also offer float and walk guides on the tailrace waters of Tennessee on the famous Watauga and South Holston Rivers. These waters offer excellent opportunities for catching Brown, Brook, and Rainbow trout. In addition, there is great smallmouth fishing in the area as well.   Local Half Day Wade Trip Our local wade trip take place on both wild and hatchery supported trout streams and rivers in the immediate area of our shop. While walking along some of the most pristine waters in the High Country, you will have the opportunity to catch rainbow, brown and maybe even a wild brook trout. This trip is perfect for the beginner or someone who can’t spend the whole day on the water. Our guides are all Orvis Endorsed instructors and are willing to spend as much time as needed with fly fishing instruction. If it is a morning trip then you will leave the shop at 9:15 am and return around 1:15 pm. Afternoon trips leave around 1:30pm and return at 5:30pm. All equipment, waders, rods, and flies will be provided by your guide. Lunch and fishing license not included. Click here for rates. Local Full Day Wade Trip Our full day local wade trip also takes place on wild and hatchery supported trout streams; however, this trip allows the guide to take you to places that could not be reached with the time allowed on a half day trip. You will also be able to fish an assortment of great locations if the conditions allow. We will leave the shop around 9:00 am and will return about 5:30 pm. Lunch is provided on this trip, along with all the fishing tackle and equipment you will need on your adventure. Fishing license not included. Click here for rates. Local Private Water Wade Trip We offer full and half day wade trips to privately managed trophy trout water in our area. This trip provides anglers exclusive access to streams that are managed just for the production of trophy trout. The fish in these streams range from 20 to 30 inches and are known for testing the skills of most anglers. Due to the exclusiveness of this trophy water, there is an additional rod fee added to the guided trip price. Click here for rates. TN Tailwater Wade Trip The South Holston and the Watauga Tailwaters are known as some of the most famous and complex trout fisheries in the South. A wade trip to these rivers is a full day and includes a lunch. Typically we will leave the shop around 8:00 am and return between 5:00 and 6:00 pm. These rivers are only about an hour from the shop and we are very fortunate to be in such close proximity to these two renowned rivers. These rivers will be your best shot at getting into trophy Brown and Rainbow trout. All equipment is provided. TN licenses will be purchased on the drive to the river. Click here for rates.
